Chihiros A II Series LED Light (Built-in Bluetooth)

Bring clean design, precise performance, and ease of control to your planted tank with the Chihiros A II Series — ideal for open-top aquariums that demand both style and functionality.

Key Features & Highlights

  • Full-Spectrum White Lighting
Emits a natural daylight spectrum (~ 400-700 nm) with color temperature around 8,000 K, tuned to favour red & blue wavelengths for plant photosynthesis while preserving green/yellow tones so everything in your tank still looks vibrant and balanced.

  • Built-in Bluetooth Controller
Unlike earlier “A Series” models, the A II comes with an integrated Bluetooth controller — no external commander required. Through the My Chihiros app you can easily set timers, adjust brightness, ramp lighting up/down (sunrise & sunset), etc.

  • Slim & Elegant Form Factor
With a width of about 6.7 cm and a height of 1 cm, the A II has a very low profile. Mounted on a transparent acrylic holder (which also acts as an indirect heat sink), it avoids bulky metal brackets or legs, maintaining a clean look over the tank.

  • Adjustable / Directional Lighting
The lamp can swivel in its holder, allowing you to angle the light for optimal coverage and to reduce shadows or glare.

  • Safe for Open Aquariums
The housing is splash-protected (rated IP43), making it suitable for use over open tanks. Be aware though: because it’s exposed to water vapour, A II lights are not recommended for fully enclosed setups (sealed lids) where condensation can accumulate.

Technical Specifications

Here are some example specs for different models to help customers choose the size that fits their tank:

Model Tank Length / Fit Power Consumption LED Count Luminous Flux Dimensions (W × D × H) Glass / Stand Info
A II-301 ≈ 30 cm ~ 14-15 W  30 LEDs  ~ 1,400 lm  width ~ 285 mm × depth 67 mm × height ~ 10 mm (overall about 6.7 × 1 cm profile)  Acrylic holder; glass (if used) max thickness ~ 8-13 mm depending on model
A II-451 ≈ 45 cm ~ 21 W  ~ 50 LEDs  ~ 1,950 lm  similarly slim profile; ~ 435 × 67 × 10 mm  Acrylic stand mount; see above
A II-901 & A II-1201 Large tanks (≈ 90-120 cm) ~ 40-58 W depending on model ~ 90-120 LEDs  up to ~ 3,580-4,800 lm  longer bars but same profile height/depth scaling accordingly Mounted via acrylic holder; ensure stand/glass support appropriate

(Values are approximate; always check model-specific specs before purchase.)

Pros & Things to Consider

Pros:

  • Clean aesthetic that won’t dominate the visual space above the tank.

  • Easy wireless control via app — scheduling and dimming without adding extra hardware.

  • Excellent lighting for photosynthesis; red/blue emphasis helps plant growth.

  • Good build quality; IP rating means safe for open tanks.

Considerations:

  • Not suited for totally sealed tanks — condensation could be a problem.

  • Because it’s a white-LED unit (not RGB), color adjustments are more limited (you can't tweak individual red/blue/green channels as flexibly as RGB units).

  • Swivel mount gives some flexibility, but positioning over wider tanks may require choosing a longer model to avoid uneven light.

  • Depending on model, brightness might not be sufficient for very demanding high-light plants or deep tanks.
