Ficus lyrata

(Fiddle Leaf Fig / Fiddle-Leaf Fig)

Ficus lyrata is a striking tropical foliage plant known for its large, violin-shaped leaves and bold upright growth. Its broad, glossy green foliage creates a dramatic architectural look, making it a popular choice for indoor décor, tropical plant displays, conservatories, and sheltered outdoor areas. With the right light, warmth, and consistent care, Ficus lyrata can develop into an impressive feature plant.

Overview

Ficus lyrata produces large, leathery leaves with prominent veins and a distinctive fiddle or violin shape. Young plants typically grow upright with a central stem, while mature specimens can develop a branching structure and reach considerable size. The large foliage provides strong visual contrast when combined with smaller-leaved tropical plants.
